IDOLiSH7 First BEAT! Compilation Movie Part 1 Premiere Celebration! Cast Members Including Toshiki Masuda and Yusuke Shirai Take the Stage

The large-scale mixed media project IDOLiSH7 has captured the hearts of fans across the world. Originating as a smartphone game that has surpassed 7 million downloads, the franchise has since expanded into TV anime, CDs, live concerts, manga adaptations, and more—all centered around a heartfelt story of idols growing through their struggles and dreams.

The first season of the TV anime, which originally aired in 2018, is now being re-released as a recap movie series. The first installment, IDOLiSH7 First BEAT! Compilation Movie Part 1, premiered to great success on October 3 (Fri), and Part 2 is set to hit theaters across Japan on December 5 (Fri), 2025.

On October 5 (Sun), a special stage event was held at Shinjuku Wald 9—and broadcast live to theaters across Japan—to celebrate the premiere of IDOLiSH7 First BEAT! Compilation Movie Part 1. Taking the stage were six cast members: Toshiki Masuda (Iori Izumi), Yusuke Shirai (Yamato Nikaido), Tsubasa Yonaga (Mitsuki Izumi), KENN (Tamaki Yotsuba), Atsushi Abe (Sogo Osaka), and Kensho Ono (Riku Nanase).

IDOLiSH7 First BEAT! Compilation Movie Part 1 Premiere Celebration Stage Address Official Report!

IDOLiSH7 First BEAT! Compilation Movie Part 1 tells the story of how IDOLiSH7 began. To celebrate its premiere, members of the cast appeared in grand style for a special stage greeting at Shinjuku Wald 9 on October 5 (Sun), 2025.

Taking the stage were six cast members: Toshiki Masuda (Iori Izumi), Yusuke Shirai (Yamato Nikaido), Tsubasa Yonaga (Mitsuki Izumi), KENN (Tamaki Yotsuba), Atsushi Abe (Sogo Osaka), and Kensho Ono (Riku Nanase). In this report, we’ll share a look at the lively stage event, which overflowed with festive spirit.

As IDOliSH7's "MONSTER GENERATiON" played, the six cast members made their entrance.  Right off the bat, KENN got everyone hyped with his trademark "lunch report," announcing with a grin, "I had a steak bento for lunch today, so I'm totally full and fired up!" Abe quickly jumped in to expose him, saying, "He was eating rice balls before that steak bento!" The friendly back-and-forth between the two MEZZO" members had the whole crowd laughing.

At the event, it was revealed that the day happened to be Kensho Ono’s birthday. Ono beamed and said, “Thank you so much!” as the audience both in the theater and watching the live stream joined together to shout, “Happy birthday, Kensho-san!” The venue was filled with warm cheers and a celebratory atmosphere.

Seven years have passed since the first season of the TV anime aired. When asked how they felt about the story reaching the big screen at such a milestone, Tsubasa Yonaga said, “I’m really glad to have this chance to be reminded of just how brilliant they are.” Turning to the side, he added with a grin, “Although, in Part 1, Yamato’s kind of a handful…” Shirai quickly chimed in, “Yeah, he makes things hard, doesn’t he?” and Abe followed up with, “Even though he acts all superior to everyone else!” Their playful banter drew laughter from the crowd. Abe went on, “But you know he's going to overcome all sorts of things in the future. I’d be happy if people watched this movie again and again.”

When the cast was asked about memorable scenes or lines, Shirai began with a mischievous smile: “My favorite 'he’s doing it' moment is…" which immediately prompted the others to jump in with, "What does that even mean?!" Unfazed, he continued, "Yamato’s line, 'It’s kind of like revenge,' really stuck with me," earning nods of agreement from the rest of the members.

KENN added with a grin, “But he’s a good guy—he even treated everyone to drinks when they played basketball.” He continued, analyzing Yamato’s personality in the scene: “And in that basketball scene, Yamato is the referee. If you think about how much he hates running around, it actually makes perfect sense.” His calm, thoughtful breakdown impressed the audience, highlighting the care that went into the character’s writing.

Later, when asked which parts they would recommend to newcomers to IDOLiSH7, the cast groaned in unison and joked, “Can we just say… everything?” It was clear there was so much they loved that picking just a few highlights felt impossible.

Masuda went first, saying, “What I love about IDOLiSH7 is that, usually, when you start getting into idols, they’re already fairly well established. But with this series, you get to follow them from the very beginning—the moment they’re created—and watch them shine on stage even now. The real appeal is this sense of closeness you can feel with them, something completely different from how you usually connect with idols.”

Afterwards, the cast was asked to give a final comment based on everything that had been said. Ono took a deep breath and simply said, “they're hot,” which immediately made everyone in the venue laugh. He went on, "If I had to point out what would draw new people in, I’d say it’s the hot guys." Then, with a regretful tone, he added, "I only said ‘hotness’ because of everyone else’s comments… if I’d spoken up earlier, I could have said so much more!"

Then a special guest made its entrance: King Pudding! As it wobbled and struggled to climb onto the stage, Abe called out, "Watch out for the step—everyone, let’s cheer it on!" The audience joined in with loud cheers, and thanks to their support, King Pudding finally made it safely onto the stage.

After that, Yonaga held a plushie of Kinako and a Nagi acrylic stand, and he and the other guests began a photo session. During it, cheers such as "Hot," "Cool," and "Cute" were heard, and the six members burst into memorable true smiles.

The final segment of the stage event featured a message from Ono. Looking out at the audience, he joked, “Thank you for coming to the Kensho Ono 36th birthday event…” earning big laughs from the audience. With a playful smile, he continued, "The story still feels so fresh and timeless that it’s hard to believe it was written seven years ago. After everything that’s happened, I’m really happy we can return to the very beginning like this. Part 2 is coming next, so there are plenty more IDOLiSH7 stories ahead. I’d be delighted if you continue supporting us in the future."

IDOLiSH7 First BEAT! Compilation Movie Part 1 is now playing in cinemas, and Part 2 is set to premiere on December 5 (Sun), 2025 across Japan. If you’ve already enjoyed the TV anime, why not bring a friend who hasn’t seen it yet and experience the story of IDOLiSH7’s beginning all over again?
