Ueno No Mori Brass

Formed in 1973 by classmates at Tokyo University of the Arts. After graduating, they formed a concert tour group aimed at schools. The group started out with over 10 members, but on their 15th anniversary they shifted to a brass quintet. At the time, their choice to perform memorized music standing up took the classical music world by storm. Since then, they've continued to shake up the established concert format, holding an "101 Pieces All Request Concert" and more. During their career, they have released 4 CDs, toured outside Japan, and continued to perform as the oldest existing ensemble in the world.
