[Story]
In Yongcheonru, the most dazzling guesthouse in Joseon—said to be more magnificent than the royal palace—Hong Deok-su (Kim Ji-eun) disguises herself as a man and infiltrates the establishment to uncover the truth behind her father’s unjust death.
At the same time, Lee Eun (Bae In-hyuk), a prince hiding his identity, arrives at Yongcheonru to find the "Golden Brass Spoon," a key that could defeat the shadowy power corrupting the royal family and save the throne.
Cheon Jun-hwa (Jung Gun-joo), the true heir of Yongcheonru, enters the guesthouse pretending to be a trainee.
Ko Su-ra (Park Jae-chan), a young man dreaming of reviving his fallen family line, comes seeking success above all else.
These four young people, each hiding secrets they can’t reveal, gather at Yongcheonru.
From the start, Deok-su and Lee Eun clash constantly due to their ill-fated connection before entering Yongcheonru, dragging Jun-hwa and Su-ra into their chaos. The four eventually earn the nickname “The Haona Quartet” (“Haona” meaning “but...” in old Korean speech), becoming a team of mischief-makers. As they face hardships and joys together in their struggle to survive at Yongcheonru, an irreplaceable friendship begins to form.
However, Lee Eun is confused by the complicated feelings he begins to harbor toward Deok-su, which go beyond friendship. Jun-hwa, who quickly realizes Deok-su is a woman, tries to protect her. The dynamic between the three gradually begins to shift.
As the entangled pasts of these characters are revealed, a painful choice that will alter their fates awaits them...

●A heroine in disguise + 3 handsome leads = a youth romance that won’t disappoint!
Following her father's final wishes, Hong Deok-su has lived as a man. To uncover the truth behind his death, she infiltrates Yongcheonru as a trainee. There, she meets three young men, each with their own secrets and motivations:
Lee Eun (a.k.a. Lee Uno), a prince hiding his identity;
Cheon Jun-hwa, the true heir of Yongcheonru; and
Ko Su-ra, who dreams of restoring his fallen family line.
The four of them constantly cause trouble and are soon singled out by their instructors, gaining the reputation of the “Haona Quartet.” As their friendships deepen through both conflict and connection, the story delivers heartfelt bromance, laugh-out-loud moments, and an exciting love triangle centered around Deok-su. It’s a youthful tale full of excitement and swoon-worthy moments!
●Rising stars lead a fresh ensemble cast!
The four lead actors are among the most promising young talents in the Korean drama world:
Bae In-hyuk (The Story of Park’s Marriage Contract) draws on his experience in period dramas to portray the elegant but romantically clumsy Lee Eun (Lee Uno), with skillful contrast and charm. Kim Ji-eun (Love Next Door) takes on her first historical role as well as her first cross-dressing heroine, bringing to life a character who is both brave and endearing. Jung Gun-joo (The Secret Romantic Guesthouse) masterfully captures both the cheerful and playful sides of Cheon Jun-hwa, as well as his emotional depth. Park Jae-chan, who rose to fame in Semantic Error, makes his period drama debut as Ko Su-ra, portraying his character’s stubborn yet caring nature with warmth.
The synergy between the four creates irresistible chemistry that you won’t want to miss!
●A gripping tale of conspiracy and revenge unfolds
The key to the larger mystery in Check-in Hanyang lies in a grand conspiracy and revenge dating back to the previous generation.
Deok-su pursues the truth behind the “Golden Brass Spoon” in her quest to avenge her father.
Lee Eun (Uno) infiltrates Yongcheonru to expose the dark forces threatening the royal family.
As their missions intertwine and the story takes unexpected turns, will Deok-su’s identity be discovered? Will Lee Eun succeed in his secret mission? And what choices will Jun-hwa and Su-ra make once the truth of their shared past is revealed?
The twists and suspense will keep you hooked until the very end!
●Lavish sets and stunning visuals bring the world to life
The central setting, Yongcheonru, is depicted as a guesthouse grander than the royal palace, boasting breathtaking scale and beauty. From meticulously crafted sets to beautifully plated dishes and the cast in vibrant hanbok, every detail enhances the historical drama’s rich atmosphere.
