Kenshi Yonezu's 16th single is a double A-side featuring both the theme song and ending theme for Chainsaw Man The Movie: Reze Arc!
The miracle collaboration of Kenshi Yonezu x Chainsaw Man returns - and this time, Kenshi Yonezu teams up with Hikaru Utada for their first-ever deluxe collaboration!
The single includes "IRIS OUT", written by Kenshi Yonezu as the movie's theme song, and "JANE DOE", the ending theme co-created by Kenshi Yonezu and Hikaru Utada.
The smash-hit manga series Chainsaw Man has surpassed a total of 30 million copies in circulation and is currently serialized on Shonen Jump+ (Shueisha).
Its creator, Tatsuki Fujimoto, is the genius behind other acclaimed works such as Fire Punch, Look Back, and Goodbye, Eri.
In 2022, animation studio MAPPA (Jujutsu Kaisen, Attack on Titan Final Season, and more) brought the series to life as a TV anime, earning immense praise not only in Japan but across the globe. To date, the series has been distributed in over 200 countries and regions.
The anime's opening theme, "KICK BACK" by Kenshi Yonezu, became the first song with Japanese lyrics ever certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). It has seen explosive worldwide success, with the music video surpassing 200 million views, the anime opening video reaching 140 million views, and total streams exceeding 500 million.
And now, the fan-favorite arc that picks up right after the TV anime finale, "Episode Reze," is being adapted into a feature film. The story follows protagonist Denji, who finds himself at the mercy of Reze, a mysterious girl he meets by chance, as he's drawn into an unpredictable new fate.
Brought to life with MAPPA's signature dynamic battle animation, the movie premiered in Japan on Friday, September 19, and will be released in over 50 countries and regions worldwide.
Kenshi Yonezu's double A-side single "IRIS OUT / JANE DOE" will be available in three editions: the First Press Limited IRIS OUT Edition, the JANE DOE Edition, and a Regular Edition.
