Anne Shirley is a talkative girl who spreads the wings of her imagination in daydreams...
One spring day, she is sent to meet Matthew and Marilla, a middle-aged brother and sister living on Prince Edward Island in eastern Canada.
Haqving initially been seeking to adopt a boy to help with farm work, the couply are apprehensive of the freckled & red-haired little girl who they have instead been sent.
But eventually, they find themselves quite unwilling to ever give her up.

Full of anticipation, Anne begins her life at Green Gables.
