High school student Akira Mizutamari is a genius scientist devoted to researching robots and artificial intelligence. Taking a friend's comment literally, he sets out to use science to create a "girlfriend." He is voiced by Shun Horie, who plays Kyotaro Ichikawa in "The Dangers in My Heart!"

Kunihito Obayashi, Akira's classmate who set him down the path of creating a girlfriend, is played by Toshiki Masuda who voiced Haruka Kiyomine in "Oblivion Battery."

Akane Sachimura, another classmate of Akira's who cares about him despite his obsession with research, is voiced by Sora Amamiya who plays Aqua in "KonoSuba: God's Blessing on This Wonderful World!"
