What Sasaki bought at a pet shop turns out to be a renowned sage reincarnated from another world.

"I am Piercarlo, a traveler from another realm and a Sage of the Stars." ...Though, he happens to be a Java sparrow.

Sasaki names his adorable new companion Peeps and begins a whole new life with him.

Peeps grants Sasaki the ability to travel between worlds and bestows him with magical powers. Posing as a trader in the fantasy world, Sasaki makes money by selling goods from Japan, enjoys delicious meals at the restaurant he opens himself, and trains in magic under Peeps.

For the first time, Sasaki finds a way to heal both body and mind from the exhaustion of life as a corporate drone - all through his new life of swords and sorcery.

Then, one day...

On his way home from work, Sasaki encounters a psychic. Although he manages to escape using magic from the parallel world, he's mistaken for a psychic himself and recruited by a government agency: the Cabinet Office's Paranormal Phenomena Countermeasure Bureau.

Goodbye, corporate slavery! Goodbye, exploitative company!

...Or so he thought. It seems a stable life as a civil servant isn't quite in the cards.
