Animate Girls Festival (AGF), the massive annual celebration of everything for girls—anime, manga, voice actors, merch, otome games, cosplay, and much more—was held again this year on November 8 and 9, filling the area around Ikebukuro Station with excitement once again.
Now celebrating its 16th year, AGF2025 took on the theme of "piece/peace"—a nod to the idea that the festival is only truly complete when its most important "piece" arrives: the fans. Every corner of the event was designed to be a safe, welcoming, and "peaceful" space, so that every guest could fully relax, explore, and enjoy the weekend to the fullest.
The festival drew a huge crowd this year, with a total of 168,775 in-person attendees, including 44,658 fans at the main Sunshine City venue and even more enjoying AGF events spread across Ikebukuro. Online participation also reached a new milestone: 350,857 people tuned in to livestreams such as the one from the Sunshine City Fountain Plaza stage (ALPA B1 Hall), smashing the previous record.
Before even stepping inside the main venue, guests were greeted with a lively flower display celebrating AGF’s miraculous collaboration with Ajinomoto AGF Co., Ltd. Attendees also received Blendy sticks and special shopping bags featuring Uta no Prince-sama♪ and Nijisanji (VOLTACTION and EliBuri), adding a warm welcome the moment they arrived.
Inside Sunshine City, the festival was buzzing with 200 booths from 90 organizations. Exclusive merch, vibrant exhibits, in-booth events, and content from beloved anime and games kept fans exploring all day long. And if you missed something? Beyond the main venue, Ikebukuro itself was buzzing with AGF energy. The streets hosted KaraSoni x AGF2025 ENJOY!! IKEBUKURO, celebrating the Tokyo Color Sonic!! series’ strong ties to the area. Fans could also enjoy collaboration cafe food trucks, and the star-studded Anime & Manga SPOT EXPO Special Stage in AGF2025. Every event drew huge crowds and wrapped up with incredible excitement.

Just like last year, an Animate Girls Festival 2025 Pre-party kicked off the festivities on November 7!
This year’s main host was Tsubasa Yonaga, joined by assistant host Yuya Hirose. In the second half, the "animate game fight!!" segment leveled up with guest players Kazuki Ura and Junta Terashima, bringing the onstage team to a lively quartet.
This year’s animate game fight!! saw the amazing lineup face off in the Nintendo Switch 2 title Mario Kart World. Fans attending the event could jump into the tournament as well, racing alongside the performers, making for an electric competition that had the whole hall buzzing.

Inside the main venue, the excitement didn’t stop for a second. A total of 200 booths from 90 different organizations filled the hall, each offering its own unique mix of displays, exclusive merch, and fun in-booth events. AGF2025–limited items were everywhere—some for sale, some handed out as freebies—and every booth drew big crowds and tons of enthusiasm.

Over at the open stage in Sunshine City Fountain Plaza (ALPA B1), 14 different performances lit up the weekend with nonstop excitement.
On November 8, the "Remote☆Host" stage brought the energy sky-high with a mini live concert by eight cast members from Venere5 & Saturno5—fans were absolutely buzzing.
Then on November 9, the spotlight turned to the "TV Anime The Other World's Books Depend on the Bean Counter AGF2025 Special Stage", where attendees were treated to fresh highlights and brand-new info about the upcoming January 2026 anime.

This year marks the 16th anniversary of Animate Girls Festival—and to celebrate, AGF teamed up with none other than Ajinomoto AGF Co., Ltd., the makers of Blendy® coffee and tea! What a miracle!
Right in front of the main venue, a gorgeous flower display blending motifs from both Ajinomoto AGF and AGF2025 greeted visitors. Fans lined up to snap commemorative photos, many posing with their favorite plushies and acrylic stands for that perfect AGF memory.
The surprises didn’t stop there! Everyone entering the main venue received a free Blendy® stick set (one per person, while supplies lasted). The flavors—Chai Tea Au Lait and Blendy® Cafe Latory® Rich Tiramisu Chocolate Latte—were selected based on fan requests on social media. Fans lit up with comments like “I’m so happy I got my favorite flavor!” and “I can’t wait to try this one for the first time!”

For the first time ever, AGF introduced an Autumn-Themed Collab Cafe Food Truck Area at AGF2025, bringing together a fleet of collab cafe food trucks in the outdoor space at Ikebukuro Sunshine City.
Food trucks themed around a variety of beloved series lined the area, each offering their own special collaboration menu. Fans hopped from truck to truck, enjoying an array of creative dishes and drinks that made the perfect seasonal treat.

Collab Coaster Giveaway Campaign

A Collaboration Coaster Giveaway Campaign was held at various spots around Ikebukuro! Fans who visited participating stores could receive one special coaster, from a total of eight different titles and 34 designs, on a first-come, first-served basis.
But the fun didn’t stop there! The campaign also offered a double chance to win luxurious prizes, with entries accepted not only at Ikebukuro locations but also at select animate stores across Japan. Fans had plenty of opportunities to snag exclusive goodies!

Just like last year, a special collaboration with Tokyo Color Sonic!!—a series with deep ties to Ikebukuro—was held downtown. Fans could enjoy the series all day long with a variety of fun offerings, including the original craft beer by NAMACHAN Brewing, a huge hit last year, and a special collaboration menu with P-144 x Citraba.
These creative collaborations brought the world of Tokyo Color Sonic!! to life in Ikebukuro, letting fans immerse themselves in the series while enjoying unique, limited-time treats.

“aninight” is animate’s new entertainment concept, blending a variety of anime and game worlds with music for a one-of-a-kind experience.
On November 8, the event kicked off with “aninight Girls Floor”, and the following day, November 9, it teamed up with Tokyo Color Sonic!! for “aninight Girls Floor feat. KaraSoni & SoniRadio!!”. Fans were treated to an energetic lineup including Yoshiki Nakajima, Gakuto Kajiwara, KAN TAKAHIKO (guest DJ), and more.

At Naka-Ikebukuro Park (the park in front of the animate Ikebukuro Flagship Store), fans could experience the "Anime & Manga SPOT EXPO Special Stage in AGF2025," with a total of 10 spectacular programs on stage.
On November 8, fans were treated to a special program celebrating the 30th anniversary of Romeo’s Blue Skies: the stage event “Romeo’s Blue Skies the Musical: A Stage Connecting Oaths and Bonds.” Cast members took the spotlight to talk and perform songs, giving a sneak peek at the excitement to come in December’s musical, “Romeo’s Blue Skies: Bond.” The event created a fantastic atmosphere, leaving fans buzzing with anticipation for the upcoming performance.
The next day, November 9, the “TV Anime The Everyday Life of Part-Time Torture Workers AGF2025 Stage” brought even more excitement, with three cast members leading a themed talk. The energy on stage and in the audience was high, keeping fans engaged and laughing throughout the event.
